Forex Success Principles - The 10 Cardinal Rules of Currency Trading

by Daniel Su

If you are in a room with five different forex traders, it would not be uncommon for each and every one of them to have their own forex trading technique. It is a matter of taste and preference as there are many different styles and guidelines that one can choose when trading in the forex market. However, there are 10 cardinal rules in the world of currency trading that one must follow in order to achieve success. They are as follows:

1. Stay with your plan - for anyone to be successful in forex trading they must have a plan and stick with it. Besides your position size, your plan must also include your entry stop loss levels. In other words, you must know exactly when to take your profit and a when to get out of the trade. Having a good plan takes emotion out of trading.

2. Stay with the trends - this is not brain surgery, the trend is a forex trend for reason and you should not try to fight it. If the trend shows profit, you get in and take advantage of it and if it shows going short, then you go short. Going against trends is a surefire way to empty out your bankroll.

3. Capital preservation is a key - protecting your money is the most important lesson that you can ever learn. Putting too much of your capital into one trade can result in a financial catastrophe. You should never risk more than 5% of your forex account on a single trade. There are many traders who get cocky and decided they can't lose after hitting multiple deals in a row and then dump everything they have into one trade and unfortunately, that is the loser in air out of the market.

4. If it's a loser, get out - there is no fighting is one. In the forex market you will have some trades go bad and it is expected, but you just need to admit to your losses and get your money working back in other profitable trades. Setting up effective stop losses is a great tool to force yourself out of the trade, without emotions. Where you set these depends upon your risk profile.

5. Know when to take your profit - whenever you get into a trade, you should have already decided when you want to get out. Don't get greedy if you hit your point harder than you thought as you think it might go much higher. You may get away with this a couple of times, but it is only a matter of time when he comes back to bite you.

6. Keep your calm - you cannot afford to have emotions during a trading day. Things like greed and fear will influence your trading in a negative way. If you look at any good trader you will see a temperament that will make it next to impossible to figure out if they are winning or losing money on the day. There just isn't any place in the forex market for an emotional person.

7. Do your own research - taking advice from a friend or colleague that goes against your forex trading technique is just plain foolish. If you have a forex trading system that has proven time and time again to be profitable, don't try and take a quick fix and jump on someone else's coattails. If this is not an information you have verified, don't follow it. Stick to your own plan.

8. Keep a journal - you need to keep track of everything you do. What position you took, why you took it and how the trade went down. What price you bought it and what price you soul that are all things that you want to make note of. In the long run, you can go back and look at your successes and failures and this will help you become a better trader.

9. If you're not sure, don't get in - this is something that cannot be stressed enough. If for any reason you have a doubt about a trade, you are better off staying away from it. There are always plenty of opportunities just round the corner as the currency market works 24 hours.

10. Don't do too much - if you over trade, you may find yourself in a position where you cannot keep track of everything you have going on. Nobody should have anymore than two open positions at one time. You should only enter your second position only if your first position is profitable. Don't think you have to do a trade just for the sake of doing it, wait for the right opportunities.

Currency Trading - He's Just Not That Into Forex Day Trading

by Daniel Su

To say forex day trading is not risky would be a lie because it is definitely the riskiest form of trading in the forex market, but you can make money if you know what you are doing and have the ability to contain your emotions in this high paced environment. The risk and tempo are what keep a lot of people out of this aspect of it and going the long term way.

I once had a student Alvin who attended my forex training course and one day, he asked me if he should go for forex day trading using the forex scalping methods I've thought him. I told him forex day trading may be lucrative but may not be suitable for everyone. I went on to analyze the pros and cons of forex day trading with him.

Firstly, something that is a draw to forex day trading is the fast trading cycle. Many traders like the rush and potentially, it could actually be more fruitful than long term trading. Each individual trade may not make as much as a long term trade, but because you may be making 10 trades to every one of theirs, if not more, your profitability can actually be higher than that of the long term forex trader.

Another drawing characteristic of day trading is that you do not have the overnight worries of the long term trader. Your money is out of the market at the end of the day and if anything happens to affect the currency of a certain country, you just roll over and go back to sleep. The long term investor will be chewing on their nails waiting for the market to reopen.

Of course, with any positive there are negatives that have to be considered. The first of these is that the plain fact of the matter is that about 4 out of every 5 people that day trade end up losing money. There are several reasons for this. One of them we have already mentioned in the risk factor and another is that traders are pulled in by the lure of making very fast money and don't do the work that is necessary to be a successful day trader.

Also, a lot of the people that are day trading are doing so on borrowed money. They are leveraging against their forex account and they end risking too much on one trade and then they end up in massive debt when a trade goes bad. It is not the forex market that is causing this, it is the trader that is not putting in the necessary work and effort to be an effective day trader.

Another thing about forex day trading you should know is that it will take up quite a fair bit of your time as you need to monitor the forex market very closely. Some part time forex traders overcome this by using automated forex trading system that trades for them.

If you're having a full time job, it can also be quite distracting. Having heard my analysis, Alvin said he's just not that into forex day trading as he has a full time job and he does not have the time to monitor the forex market. Also, he said he does not need the extra excitement as his job is already stressful enough for him.

If you are still interested in day trading and have the time, give it a shot, but just do it conservatively. There are plenty of very successful day traders, but they take the time to create a successful forex day trading system that works and gives them an overall profit day in and day out. If you find that it is too much for you, just explore the long term aspect of this market niche as there is plenty of money to be made!

Currency Trading Tricks - Confessions of a Millionaire Forex Trader

by Daniel Su

Everyone has their own style and spotting trends in the Forex trading market. If you are hanging out with six different traders, they may all have their own angle to day use in each and everyone of them may be profitable.

I have a friend who has made a fortune doing forex trading online for years. I once asked him if there are any common principles of success when it comes to currency trading. My millionaire forex trader friend told me most successful currency traders tend to use forex trading techniques that they are comfortable and confident with.

He emphasized that what works for one person may not be so attractive to another individual and vice versa. However, successful traders do have a few things in common when setting their guidelines. He went on and confessed to me the top 10 forex tips and tricks to succeed in forex trading as follows:

1. Establish a plan and stick to it - you made a plan for a reason. You did research, you probably track investments over a long period of time and then finally identify the forex trading system that worked for you. Staying with this system and using good money management is a way to keep the money rolling in. Don't make radical changes for no good reason.

2. Trends or transfer a reason - Use a good forex trend system and stick with it. If you're trying to buck the system and go against a trend or predict one because of a gut feeling, you're going to find yourself out of the forex market before you know. Follow trends and use them to make money.

3. Keep your money safe - you can do this by limiting your forex investment to 3 to 5% of your overall bankroll. Think about it, this allows you to have 20 dead deals before you would ever be out of the market. If you're doing your homework, the likelihood of this is very slim. Those that get overconfident because they have had a succession of profitable deals may decide that they can increase their profitability by committing their entire bankroll to one trade. You can all but guarantee that trade will be a loser and they will be broke.

4. Don't push a bad position - when you're faced with a losing deal, cut your losses and get out as soon as you can. There is no shame in admitting that he lost a little money as it happens to everyone sooner or later in this market. The key is to minimize your losses and get your money back out into a more profitable situation.

5. Take the Money and run - a lot of traders don't know when to get out. They get involved in a trade and don't set target profit and have no idea when the right time to sell is. Your research should give you a good idea of how much money you can make on your deal. Know what the limits are and set yourself target profit even before you enter the trade. Regardless of how fast you get there, take your profit before the trend reverses and you get buried.

6. Be emotionless - it may sound a little cold, but there is no room for emotions in the forex trading. Trading is cut and dry, you win some and you lose some. Any trader worth their salt will sit there and you'll have no clue if they just made a fortune or got buried. You simply need to keep your emotions out of the game.

7. If it doesn't come from you, don't use it - this is a pretty basic rule and won the absolutely must follow. Do not trust any information that comes from anyone else other than your own research. When people try to give you tips, say thanks but no thanks and avoid the pratfall of trying to make easy money.

8. Keep a log - everyone has to learn from their successes and failures. Keeping a journal of what you bought, how much you bought it for and when you sold will enable you to look back at all of your previous deals and break down better what worked and what did not. This will make you a much better trader in the future.

9. Where there is doubt, there should be no trade - you're going to have too many positions that you feel strongly about to make a mistake and investing in something that you are not 100% sure is going to make money. This is not to say every deal that you do make is going to be profitable, but risking your money in a doubtful situation is never a good idea.

10. Don't over extend - some traders get themselves into a position where they are looking at several different profitable opportunities all during the same period. While it would be great to be involved in them all, it is simply not realistic. Spreading yourself out too thin will end up with your investments being out of control and you not being able to manage them. The best way is to only enter the second trade when the first trade has breakeven or have protected some profits.

Forex Trading: The Perfect Forex Trading System

by Arkaitz Arteaga

Trading in the Forex market has become popular in the last few years. However, only 10% of traders achieve consistent profitable results. One of the main reasons for this is that Forex traders are focusing on the wrong information. They have forgotten about the most important factor, Price Behaviour.

Technical Indicators

Studying and analysing technical indicators (a moving average (MA) crossover, overbought/oversold conditions in an oscillator, etc.) are what most successful Forex trading systems consist of. Technical indicators are just a series of data points plotted in a chart. These points are derived from a mathematical formula applied to the price of any given currency pair. That is to say, it is a chart of price plotted in a different way that helps us see other aspects of price.

Price behaviour dictates how an indicator will act, thus this should be taken into consideration when it comes to any trading decision made. The readings from technical indicators are based on price action. For example, if the price has gone up enough to make the short period MA crossover the long period MA it creates a long signal. Many traders see this as "the MA crossover made the price go up". However, it happened the opposite way, the MA crossover signal happened because the price went up. Thus price behaviour should be taken into consideration when trading decisions are made.

Trading decisions based only on technical indicators give less accurate results. For example, a long signal generated by a MA crossover as the market reaches an important resistance level; when the price suddenly starts to bounce back off the important level there is no reason on taking the signal, the price action is showing that the market does not want to go up. Most of the time, under these conditions, the market will continue to fall down, no matter the MA crossover. However, this does not mean technical indicators are not an important aspect of trading. They help show certain conditions that are difficult to see by watching pure price action. When making the decision, price action consideration into Forex trading system will generate higher probability trades.

How to create a Perfect Forex Trading System

Firstly, the trader should find the trading system that fits their trading personality otherwise it will be difficult to understand it. Each trader has different needs and goals, thus there is no system that perfectly fits all traders. Researching on various trading styles and technical indicators is crucial. This allows the trader to find a concept which perfectly works for them. As well as that, knowing the nature of the technical indicators chosen is essential.

Secondly, price action is incorporated in the traders system. Thus, the trader will only take long signals if the price behaviour tells them the market wants to go up, and short signals if the market indicates that it will go down. Thirdly, and most crucial to achieving the perfect Forex trading system, the traders chosen system has to be followed rigorously. It should first be tested out and then it can be moved to a mini forex account. When finally comfortable and being consistently profitable, the system can be applied to a regular account.

By following the guidelines above, the creation of a perfect forex trading system should allow for higher rates of return.

Forex Trading Training: The Things You Need To Know

by Dori Thompson

The reality is that nobody in this world is born with an ample understanding of the ins and outs of forex trading. And because of this, everybody needs to have the necessary training if they plan to make profits (although it might be true that experience and personality traits will enable you to pick up its concept much more easily). But today, there are a many kinds of trainings being made available to the public and this makes it hard to determine which is the best. Online, you will be able to find blogs, websites, e-books and articles (which are low-priced and even free as well) that will serve as trainings, so you may think that the knowledge you need to have can be easily picked up anywhere.

True as it may be that these e-books and free systems can be easily found online, the thing is that a number of them are outdated and will give you a little chance to succeed. So if you are a beginner in this kind of business, you will be having a hard time figuring out which ones to put your trust in. Even the best e-books that you can find will not give you everything that you need to know, as they only focus on a number of strategies which do not fit your situation. You might have saved some money on training, but in the end those savings will be lost time and time again once you plunge yourself in real trading.

For this, it is good to sign up for a formal training through a membership site, which will be headed by a trading group or a forex trader whose been on the trenches for a very long time now. They will provide you with step-by-step process that you can follow from being a beginner into a trader with great knowledge and skills. Beginners are usually lured to the thought that forex will give them quick and easy money, and most of them really have no idea about the whole thing when they start with it. You see, it's great to have something that teaches you everything you need to know and something that will be able to answer the questions that you have.

Formal training programs have their forums, wherein you can discuss your own strategies and results with your fellow traders (which is a great way to learn more). Many forums are worth the cost of the membership fee, and others stay as members to be exposed to the knowledge and experiences of other traders. Solid trainings is most unlikely to be offered for free, except maybe at the most basic level. If what you want is just to experiment with the market, never caring too much about winning or losing in the process, then you may go for a free training. Free trainings serve as teasers by websites or brokers, hoping that you, as a trader, will join them as a paying member (in here, you can pick up top level tips). Free reports from expert traders is much more useful compared to a $20 training e-book.

So, whatever kind of forex trading training you'd like to avail of, just make sure that you follow it step by step, never skipping over steps just to go directly to making money (which will spell a disaster for you if you're not careful!). What you do is that you need to test out the system being taught to you, and you can choose between having small trades or availing for a demo account. Just make sure to keep in your head the trainings that you join into to put yourself in a good position to make good profits in the business!

High Probability Trading Strategies - Daytrading Tactics

by Dave Lex

Day trading is the most active form of trading having maximum trading risk. It requires real-time news, quotes and charts. Day traders practice many complex strategies for getting profited from the market. Here are some simple tactics which can minimize trading loss of day traders, especially beginners. Try to incorporate them in your daily trading plan and i believe you will see an improvement in your trading.

* Concentrating on certain group of stocks or an industry. Specializing gives traders a chance to study deep and find more profitable opportunities. Know the characteristics of certain sectors or group of stocks and how it is affected by the market index. For example, if you are trading Google, then you would want to be noticing the Nasdaq index. Therefore if you have any long positions on and you see the Nasdaq index starting to tank, chances are that Google will likely follow the index in going down and you can refrain from opening a long position or close your current long positions.

* Using traders systems with hot/short lists. Then traders can find opportunities quickly and easily for stocks (or other instruments) they are trading. For example if you are doing gap trading, then you would track on your list the biggest gappers for the day and see their movement on a list so you can shuffle through them quickly and keep an eye on the rest.

* Modify and update your hot list and stock groups frequently. For example, if you feel that stock XYZ is doing nothing or is going sideways, remove it from your list and concentrate on existing list or do a search to see any "hot" moving stocks are available for potential trades.

* Avoiding trades when unsure about the market. It is better to keep capital for future opportunities than wasting it on uncertain positions. A very important skill in trading is to learn to sit on your hands when you do not identify any high probability setups. If you try to force a trade, chances are you will end up losing in the long run. Also it is important to identify a choppy market as more often that not, you will get killed in the whipsaws.

* Concentrating on one opportunity at a time. This considerably minimizes trading risk and help in maximizing opportunities by increasing position sizes. Instead of having 10-20 positions at a time, try to cut down to 5 or so positions so you can monitor them more carefully.

* Limit the number/frequency of trades. It is better to concentrate on one or two trades a day. This depends on your trading setup. If you trade off a 1 minute chart, the number of trades you will take in a day will definitely be more than trading on a 1 hour chart. So trade on different time frames to see which you feel comfortable trading in.

* Keep the risk minimum. It is ideal to keep the risk possibility less than 1% of your account size. This is probably one of the most important part of trading. If you risk a fixed 10% per trade, you will bust your account if you have 10 losing trades in a row, and this is very possible.

* Be careful with trading on margin. High margin trades are better when you are sure about price direction.

* Write down your trades. Note how you profited from a trade and why you made loss from another. And frequently go through them.

As William Eckhardt said this in an interview, "If a trader doesn't know why he's losing then it's hopeless unless he can find out what he's doing wrong. In the case of the trader who knows what he's doing wrong, my advice is deceptively simple. He should stop doing what he is doing wrong. If he can't change his behavior, this type of person should consider becoming a dogmatic system trader."

Daytrading can be lucrative if you do it properly. Implement these high probability daytrading strategies and tactics and you will surely find yourself improving in your trading.

Currency Trading: What Is It?

by Dori Thompson

Currency trading is the exchange of one currency for another currency. It's just like visiting other countries wherein you get to trade your own currency for that of the other country's. But when it comes to currency trading in the forex market, it means something really different. In forex marketing, traders are trading one currency for another to gain as much profits as they can.

Currency trading is just like trading in stocks on the stock market. The reality is that in here, the average personal investor is being outrun by the stock traders, as they usually buy and sell stocks at a rather quicker pace than those investors. You see, those investors just take the advice of their brokers, but in the end keep stocks in a span of quite a number of years, if not decades.

So, how does it work? Let's have an example to demonstrate how traders make profits in this kind of business. Say the present rate of the British pound to euro forex market is around GBP/EUR 1.1200; meaning, to buy a single British pound, you got to have 1.12 euros. Now, if ever you think that the value of the euro has more chances of rising than the pound's, then you might sell 100,000 pounds and buy 100,000 euros, and then wait for the outcome.

Several days later, the exchange rate becomes GBP/EUR 1.0600, which means that the pound is only equal to 1.06 euros. So if you sell your euros and then you get to buy back 100,000 pounds, you have then made a profit of around 6% of the investment that you have made (deducting any fees). There's not one single trader who has a 100,000 pounds or dollars lying around in the bank to trade with. But that's okay, because fortunately enough, you really don't have to have all that money in reality.

As you're job is to buy and sell consecutively, all you need to have in your pocket is something that would cover any possible loss in trading before exiting the market (your predictions did not come into reality) and the worth of the currency that you have bought started to fall down. With this, your broker lends you the rest of it. Now, this is what is called as trading margins. So on a $100,000 trade, the margin is around 1 to 2 percent ($1,000 to $2,000).

Now, this is the amount that you need to have in your forex brokerage account. And lots determine the amount that you trade in (these lots could be at around $10,000 each or more, which depends on the currency and also the broker). Trade $20,000 and trade 2 lots, $30,000 for 3 lots, etc. There are also what we call the limited risk accounts, where you get to risk only the cash amount you have on account with the broker, so as to avoid the margin calls, which is done by allowing smaller players to trade in the forex market with the use of mini-lots/fractions of a lot (which reduces the risk but may cost more to trade in the process).

The reality is that today, more and more people are getting involved with currency trading. It really has its advantages over the stock market. If ever you don't have any knowledge about valuation of the different kinds of currencies, you can always set up a forex robot (something that will trade for you according to the settings of your choice). Just remember that this is a very risky kind of business, wherein you can either lose or gain money. So, knowing these facts will give you some idea of taking the next step in becoming a currency trader in the forex market.

Forex Tips - Recession-Proof Ways to Trade Forex Online

by Daniel Su

While the forex market presents the best opportunity to make a solid profit during this recession, it is much different from the stock market. You may be able to trade the stock market without having complete knowledge of the market, but that is far but true with the forex market. Before you ever get involved to trade forex online, you have to have a complete understanding and know how to analyze all the data that you will see. This will enable you to develop a forex strategy that will work for you.

The funny thing about the forex market is that no one system will work for any two individuals. The systems that are used are based on expertise, personal preferences, needs and overall understanding of both the system and the market. You may get a recommendation from someone who has made millions, but their forex systems simply may not fit your style. There are also several things items that you are going to have to keep in mind when you are getting involved in the forex market, especially in a recession:

Don't trade with scared money - if you don't have the extra money to trade, simply don't make the trade. A very common pratfall of a lot of traders is that they put all of their eggs into one basket and end up going broke. You will experience losses at times in this market as no one is infallible. When these losses occur, you do not want it to end your career as a trader.

Do your research - education through forex training is going to be one of your biggest keys to success. Whether you take a course, have a broker or have a successful friend in the market, you need to make sure you understand everything that this market is about. Trading without this knowledge is foolish.

Decide what kind of a trader you are going to be - do you want to be a forex scalper or a long term trader. This is a decision that you need to make first because it is going to dictate your trading strategy and how you analyze your information. Every move that you make is dictated by the type of trader you are. This is not to say that you cannot change if you don't like the type you initially select. You are just going to have to pick a new system and get re-educated on the style that you choose.

Capital preservation is the key to success. Always have a stop loss when you enter a trade. Your main goal should be to protect your trading capital so your trading account will not be wiped out due to a bad trade. Always strive to have a risk to reward ratio of at least 1:2. This means you will not lose money even when you're wrong 2 out of 3 times. Do not be too keen to trade as there are always opportunities round the corner. As long as your capital is protected, you can always play another day.

As you can see, there is a lot to learn about the forex market before you dive in. Don't be intimidated because you cannot realistically expect to get involved in anything that you don't know about. Following these helpful forex tips will just ensure that you are not left by the side of the road.

How Not to Lose Money Enrolling in an E-currency Trading Program

by Prestplan

Every day brings a new and more exciting way to make money online. If you believe the dozens of advertisements that bombard us everyday, all of us should be millionaires. Why aren't we? Because 95% of the offers to make you rich are pure nonsense.

The latest scheme involves an old idea made new again. In the late 1990's millions of people lost billions of dollars when they discovered the lure of fast, easy profits from day trading. The rebirth of that idea is E-currency trading. Quickly becoming the darling of the online scammers, there are multiple sites offering the perfect trading system to make you rich while you sleep. These schemes are also called Forex trading systems. Forex, of course, stands for trading in foreign currencies.

E-currency trading is not new. It is however, enjoying a new popularity as more and more programs are being offered for sale. These programs, which range in price from $300 to $800 promise to train the investor to make high profits by trading in the foreign exchange markets. As with most other scams, there is always some expert who will tell you which program is the real deal. Don't believe any of them!

According to the Wall Street Journal, the average individual who purchases one of these systems, loses about $15,000. A typical program promises that if you will invest $200 to $5000 in the system, you will make thousands of dollars in profit in just a few weeks. Of course, the more money you invest the faster you will become rich. It's not going to happen.

Prior to the availability of the internet as a trading portal, individuals could only trade in currency through banks or reputable brokerage firms. But with the use of the internet by individual to trade, there is very little control by government regulators. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is charged with the responsibility of regulating the currency trading industry. But it is difficult for them to find the online sites that are responsible for the majority of the fraud and responsible for the losses suffered by individual investors. In the last 5 years, the Commission has prosecuted about 80 cases on behalf of about 23,000 individual investors. Those investors lost over 350 million dollars.

Some of the so-called experts will tell you that there is an even better system for making money than an E-currency program. They will encourage you to join an arbitrage trading program. The wonderful difference is that you can buy this program for a mere $139.

Arbitrage is simply a financial word which means taking advantage of a price differential between two or more markets. E-currency trading is simply arbitrage of currency markets. They are the same thing. The scammers will tell you that arbitrage trading has been around forever as if that makes it safe.

It has been around for years because banks and investment companies have professional traders who devote their full attention to trading foreign currencies. A few experts can arbitrage the foreign currency market for large gains. The individual is always under capitalized and could never compete with large financial institutions doing the same kind of trading.

The simple fact is that if you want to try E-currency trading or foreign exchange arbitrage, understand that it is a very high risk strategy. The only funds you should ever use for this kind of investment are funds that you can afford to lose.

There is one more consideration. Many of the early guru's of Forex or E-currency trading have been prosecuted and even gone to jail. If you are invited to join such a program and offered the opportunity to enroll others in the program, you may be putting yourself at risk of prosecution for fraud. Today I counted more than two dozen different Forex or E-currency trading sites to entice individual investors. Do yourself a favor. Stay very far away from all of them.

Forex Robot Software - Are They Just the Latest Internet Investor Scam?

by richpowerman

If you have ever tried your hand at investing in the multi-trillion dollar Forex marketplace, when you look at all the variables needed to place reliable and rewarding trades, how many times have you thought to yourself if there was a way of computerising all of these variables, so trading becomes foolproof and rewarding?

Have you also had this thought that if you could get a bunch of software code to place your trades, you could really cut out all the concentration and learning that most people go through to become expert traders?

Well, consider this, if you wanted to become a brain surgeon, do you think that you could short - circuit years of mental and physical training and practice and operate on your best friend tomorrow - perhaps not!

Now, Forex Robots, or Expert Advisors (EA's) do have their place, as long as you have had some instruction in Forex trading, and you have the right mentality to even approach this massively rewarding, but terribly unforgiving, form of investment.

First of all, lets look at what a Forex Robot is, and how it is usually used. One of the most popular trading platforms in use by many of the top Forex Brokers is known as the Meta 4 trading platform. This platform has its own unique software tools that enables clients using that Broker to either create their own 'Expert Advisors' or to buy one of the many available on the Internet, and simply install it on their Meta 4 broker station. They just set it running, and Bingo! They are trading automatically!

The trouble is, you are then totally at the mercy of some remote programmer, who may have been given a good idea by an expert trader to turn into an automated solution, but even then, the expert would have probably used this routine for certain market conditions, and either switched it off and traded manually during difficult market conditions, or just tweaked his parameters as and when necessary.

When you look at the ever-expanding range of Forex Robots appearing on the internet, all making fantastic claims of turning you into a millionaire in under a year, and all costing around $95 for an outright purchase, who do you really think is making all the big money.

I would suspect that the authors of all of these expert advisors are sitting quite pretty, as once your name appears on a 'Forex Interest' list, you will probably get a new promotion every week!

This is not to say that Forex Robots don't have an important part to play in assisting traders to make a little extra income. In fact, there are two types that are usually of great assistance to the average trader, and even 'armchair' Forex investors.

The first type is where they are used to assist traders to extend a particularly trade, as opposed to identifying a good opportunity.

For instance, I use a very good proactive charting system to identify trades, and when I place a trade, to maximise on its success, I will often use a Robot to help me progress the trade. If I enter a particularly good trade, that may go on for hundreds, or even thousands of pips ( I wish), then rather than use a trailing stop, and a fixed 'Take Profit' point, I would rather move my stops manually, and also move up my take profit pointer.

I have a very good EA that I can use that is brilliant at just that sort of constant manipulation, so I don't have to spend days staring at my screen, and possibly losing out right at the crucial time when I just have to sleep!

The second type I find very useful (and usually highly profitable) is a combination of a Forex Robot, in conjunction with a paid subscription for a managed service that will change the parameters as market conditions dictate.

Forex Robots have their place in this lucrative market, but like all tools, they must be used with a little caution. Always try and see if there is an active user group for the Robot you want to play with.
Bear in mind also that there is no real substitute for a bit of hard work and learning techniques to make a really great Forex income.

Try it - and be impressed.
